Creating a character is a fairly easy process.
First, you are going to need to connect to the muck.
Load your favorite mud/muck client and input the following information.
Host Address: muck.animaltracks.net
Port: 6996 or 6969
Once you connect, you must make a choice, either begin as a guest or try to request a name.
Either way you'll soon need to request a name.
When you request a name, here are a few helpful suggestions when choosing one.
1) Please don't type <>!etc etc in your name, you'll be asked to change it and odds are it won't get validated with it that way.
2) Please use proper capitalization in your name.
4) Please try to be original with your name, you might not get validated otherwise.
Now that you're in game, it's time to work on your character.
1) To begin creating your character, type:
+chargen <your name>
2) Select which type of pokemon you will be.
Use +pokechooser to set your gender, species, and morphology.
<pokemon name or number>
+pokechooser female vulpix pokemorph
Different pokemon have different costs, check the dex:
to find out what its stats, attacks, and cost (in freebies) to play are.
3) Spend your freebies.
You start with 30 freebies, minus the cost of your character and possibly
with some of your freebies already spent, from (2).
Type +freebies to list the areas you can put points in,
Use +freebie <type>=<amount> to spend/unspend points, and
type +finish when done.
4) Select your attacks.
You can +dex at any time to look at yourself with your pokedex.
You start at level 10, with 100XP to spend. You can choose any of the
stats for your kind of pokemon (+dex/pokemon <your type>) that are
green, or less than or equal to your current level. To put XP into
an attack, type +buy <attack>=<XP>
You can spend all your XP, or save some, its up to you. It is also worth noting that certain attacks, such as leech seed, only need 1XP to be used properly. Any more would be a waste of XP as the attack will not get more powerful.
5) Set your description and form.
Gender and species will already be set up, please do not change these.
Type 'editplayer'. This will allow you to set up the physical, unsheeted aspects of your character.
When writing your description, try to have it be at least 5 lines[counting word wrap] worth.
6) Set your character information.
This is information that is OOCly available about your character
Type '+info/help'. Now fill in as many fields as you can. You can come
back later and fill in more stuff as you create more detail.
It is recomended that you have atleast the following fields.
1)Background, at least 5 lines
7) You should be all ready to play. All you need to do now is to ask someone in staff to check you for validation.
Staff are always listening in the OOC nexus, so asking out loud may work, or try the public channel.
